Mona McNee Teaches Reading, Writing, Spelling and Pronunciation Using Phonics

Frequently asked questions.

Q1. What if a pupil says that they can read on their own now and don’t see any point in finishing the course?

Answer: All the course is valuable in improving literacy. The fact that they now have confidence shows that the first part of the course has worked.  With that confidence they will finish the rest of the course fairly quickly so it would be a shame to abandon it. Tell them how long they are likely to need to finish the course based on their performance so far.

Q2. When I print out a web page part of the right-hand side is missing?

This may be because the margin setting in Internet Explorer is closer to the right-hand edge than the printer can print.

To alter the setting:-

Start Internet Explorer.

The browser window should appear.

On the menu line click on FILE.

A drop down menu should appear.

Click on Page Set-up.
A Page Set-up window will appear.

Alter the size of the left and right margins to say 30 meaning thirty mm or
3 cm. This may be a bit larger than necessary and you may be able to reduce if you
want to but the original size seems to be too small for the printer.
Click OK and if this was the cause it should be OK.
