Have the pupil write in 'or' and read out loud each word.

 

For OR the mouth is not so wide‑open as for AR. Again, try to sound the r so that pour/pore does not sound like paw. If it is 'pouring with rain', the word 'pouring' does not sound the same as if a cat is "pawing a mouse" (with no r sound). (Try also soaring, sawing). Play the previous games. Use (or make) an "Is it?", s/ladders, bingo and pack of pairs cards for ar, or words.
