Step 69: gu

If ge gi gy say je ji jy, what if we do not want this? If we want a hard g in front of e,i,y, we must split the ge gi gy, and we do this with a u : gu says the hard g. It forms a wall' between the g and the e,i,y

There is a u in guard, a u which is not really needed. Compare 'regard'

.

                                                                                                    ___ ard (but regard)

Note also: Antigua,
