User manual
1. This
web site was created without charge. It is not therefore as flexible as some
commercial sites. It was only tested with Windows ME and Internet Explorer version 5.5. It will
probably work with Win 95,Win98 Win ME, and Windows XP. You should use Internet
Explorer 5.5 or later if you have problems with other browsers. (It is
installed as standard on some PCs and available free from sources such as
magazine cover discs.)
2. Depending
on the power of your PC, the speed of your modem and the speed of your Internet
service, the pictures and pages will appear slowly or quickly. Give them a few
minutes the first time. You can then if you wish save them as web pages on your
PC after which you will be able to look at them faster.
3. When
you click on a link to hear a sound your Sound Player program window will
appear and you can press the play button to hear the sound as often as you
wish. The Sound Player may vary according to the program designated by your PC
to play sound files with the .wav suffix. It might be Microsoft Sound recorder,
or Windows Media Player for instance.
4. If
you have small cards to print some of the materials the printer may not be able
to feed them automatically. On some printers at least I can get round this by
feeding the cards one at a time.
5. If
you cannot print on card then you can print on paper and paste it to a
cardboard backing.
6. Links between pages have been kept to a minimum
to save on programming effort. Mostly you will go to a page from the Contents
page and then use your browser BACK button to return to the contents.
